Himalayan Walks – Explore & Experience
Delhi – Amritsar
Arrive Amritsar airport and transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit Indo-Pak boarder to witness the flag raising ceremony.
Amritsar – Dalhousie 220 km, 5 to 6 hours drive
After breakfast check out from the hotel and visit the Historical Golden Temple in Amritsar. Later drive to Dalhousie. Lunch enroute. Arrive Dalhouise late afternoon and check in Hotel. Afteroon walk on the Mall in Dalhousie. You can take a half an hour circular walk from Subhash Chowk to Gandhi Chowk in Dalhousie. Overnight stay at hotel.
Breakfast at Hotel. After a short drive(20 minutes) we reach Lakarmandi from where we start a beautiful walk inside Kalatop wildlife sanctuary. It is 3 kms leveled walk through dense cedar forest. From Kalatop we have beautiful view of Pir Panjal range of central Himalayas. Walk back on the same trail to Lakarmandi. 30 minutes drive will take you to Khajiar, the beautiful meadow in the middle of the forest. Take a short walk inside Khajiar meadows. Drive back to Dalhousie for overnight stay.
Dalhousie – Chamba Jot- Dharamsala
After breakfast at Hotel drive(30 minutes drive) to Dainkund from where we start 3 hours beautiful wallk on top of Dhauladhar mountain range. Dhauladhar mountain range rises from Dalhousie and goes all the way to Kullu where it ends. Here you actually walk on top of Dhaulahdar(the outer part of Himalayas). During the walk you get a spectacular parallel view of the high Himalayan peaks of Central Himalyas. The walk ends at Jot from where we continue our drive to Dharamsala(4 hours drive). You drive through small village and this day you enter from Chamba to Kangra valley. Arrive Dharamsala and check in Hotel.
Dharamsala Walk from Naddi to Bhagsu Village
Breakfast at Hotel. After a short drive (20 minutes drive) you reach Naddi, a gaddi tribal village from where you have most beautiful view of the snow covered peaks of Dhauladhar mountain range. You start a beautiful two hours walk from Naddi to Bhagsu village. Passing through Naddi village we enter a dense forest of cedar trees. Enroute visit a Buddhist stupa and some meditation huts in the middle of the forest. Passing through Dharamkot village we get down to Bhagsu nag village. Lunch in a restaurant. After lunch free time to walk in Bhagsu Bazar. Later walk to Mcleod Ganj and go for a short walk around the temple and residence of H.H. Dalai Lama. Overnight stay at hotel.
After breakfast at hotel drive to Naddi village to start another beautiful walk up in the mountain to Guna Devi Temple. From Naddi village it is an hour of easy walk through the desnse forest to Bahl village. After crossing a small stream at Bahl we continue the walk to Guna Devi. It is steep ascent for half an hour to Galu from where it is levellled walk to Guna Devi, a small temple in the middle of the forest. From here you have superb view of the Bhimgasturi pass and the peaks of dhauladhar mountain range. Packed Lunch. Walk back to Naddi and drive to Hotel for overnight stay.
This day you take up a beautiful mountain driver passing through several mountain villages. The view and the landscape is most amazing. Packed Lunch enroute. Arrive Manali later afternoon and check in Hotel.
Manali A walk through traditional Villages
After breakfast we drive to Solang Valley to start 4 hours beautiful walk passing through the traditional mountain villages of Kullu valley and amidst the apple orchards. The walk ends near old Manali from where you drive back to your hotel for overnight stay.
After breakfast at Hotel drive to Prini Village(25 minutes drive), the starting point of today’s walk. From Pirini it is graudual ascent passing through upper Prini village and passing through the apple orchards we reach Shuru village. In Shuru village you see a beautiful wood carved village of goddess Parvati. After Shuru it is uphill walk through the forest to Bhanara village. From Bhanara it is downhill walk to Jagatsukh village where you visit an old temple of Gayatri Devi. Your driver will come to pick you up at Jagatsukh village and drive to Naggar for lunch at the beautiful Castel Hotel. After lunch visit Russian Artist Roreich’s Art Gallery. Walk inside Naggar village. Later drive back to Manali for overnight stay in Hotel.
Manali – Shimla 8 Hours drive
After breakfast at Hotel drive to Shimla. Lunch enroute. Arrive Shimla in the afternoon and check in Hotel. Evening walk on the Mall road in Shimla.
Shimla A Heritage Walk
After breakfast at Hotel drive to Summer Hill to start the Heritage walk. After a short ascent you reach The Indian Institute of Advance Studies. The building that houses the Institute was originally built as a home for Viceroy of British time India and was called The viceregal Lodge. A guided tour of the ancient building. Later continue the walk to the Historical Mall road of Shimla. Enroute you come across many ancient heritage buildings. Lunch at one of the Restaurants at The Mall. After Lunch free time to walk on the Mall on your own. Later continue the walk from Mall road to Chota Shimla. This heritage walk will take you into the British time india. Your car/drive will come to pick you up at the end of the walk.
After breakfast at Hotel drive to Mashobara. After visting the ancient church at Mashobara you continue a downhill walk through the forest to Seepur Village. After Seepur you walk through the green fields and several other villages to reach the road-head at Kanda. Here your driver/car will come to pick you up and drive to Shimal. Overnight stay in Hotel.
After breakfast drive to Shimla train station to board toy train from Shimla to Kandaghat for a short train ride. The train passes through Himalayan countryside. The narrow gauge train passes through small underground tunnels. At Kandaghat your driver will pick you up and drive to Kalka station to board Shatabadi Express train to Delhi at 1745 Hour. Arrive Delhi at 2155 Hours. End of the Tour.
