Journey Towards Masroor Rock Cut Cave Temple & Kangra Fort
After breakfast proceed for Masroor Rock Cut Cave temples. There are 15 monolithic rock-cut temples built in the Indo-Aryan style and are distinguished by their richly carved sculptures and ornate carvings. These rock cut structures are larger than those present in Nagara in size, situation and execution. The grandeur and magnificence of the statues, carvings and sculpture adorning the walls of the temples mesmerize the eyes of the visitors. Later proceed for Kangra Fort situated at a distance of 38 kms. The impregnable looking fort is perched high atop a steep cliff looking down onto the confluence of the Manjhi and Banganga Rivers, inaccessible from 3 sides. As the oldest fort in North Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, its fate was sealed not by the many battles it endured or the series of rulers it housed but ultimately by a massive earthquake in 1905 which levelled most of the building.If time permits visit the Maharaja Sansar Chand museum which exhibits artefacts used by the Royal Katoch Dynasty. In the evening drive for Dharamshala. On reaching Dharamshala, check in to hotel. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
