The vast and rich natural wealth of Great Himalayas National Park (GHNP) truly overwhelms you. Alpine meadows and thick green forests make the perfect setting for hikes and bird watching. All that with adrenalin rush adventures like Flying Fox only add to its wild charm. We begin with exploring Tirthan Valley and its birdlife on a waterfall visit trail. Adventures like Flying Fox and Rappelling and a Biodiversity trail at Sai Ropa await us. Next day we trek to our campsite at the entrance of Great Himalayan National Park and settle down. Day 3 would be an 8 km trek to Shilt Thatch and back to campsite exploring the forest trails and rich birdlife. Day 4 we unwind on a trek back to our Guesthouse. Day 5 will be made blissful with a drive to Jalori Pass and a brisk nature walk to Raghavpur fort.
About the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP)
The Great Himalayan National Park or GHNP in the Kullu region of Himachal Pradesh is grandeur at its natural best. With sparkling rivers, amazing peak views, dense rhododendron and oak forests, and rich animal and birdlife – the park is a favorite among nature lovers and birdwatchers. Declared as a Heritage Site for its biological diversity, GHNP is home to rare and endangered species including the Western Tragopan, Chir Pheasant, Snow Leopard, Himalayan Musk Deer, Asiatic Black Bear, Himalayan Tahr, Blue Sheep and Serow.

Great Himalayan National Park Trekking Birding Culture and Adventure Tour (04 Nights / 05 Days)
Arrive at your Guesthouse in the Tirthan Valley and relax. Later, leave with your guide exploring and spotting the rich birdlife on a waterfall visit trail. Boost your adrenalin with a dose of Flying Fox Adventure. After Lunch, head on to Sai Ropa (2 km) at the foothills of GHNP and experience its Biodiversity trail which introduces you to the trees and medicinal plant species transplanted from the Park. If you’re a group of six or more you could even indulge in Rappelling and River-Crossing. Return to your home stay after the day’s thrills. Have your dinner by the warmth of a bonfire and the brilliance of a documentary on GHNP. Dinner and Overnight Stay at Guesthouse.
After breakfast, we leave for GHNP. We begin with a drive to Gushaini, a beautiful town and a popular trout fishing destination in the Valley. From Gushaini, we set on a 9 km trek to the gate of the Great Himalayan National Park – Kharongcha (2100 m). Packed Lunch will be served with hot tea at Kharongcha by the Tirthan River from whereon we move to our campsite at Rolla. Dinner and Overnight Stay at Campsite.
After breakfast, we begin on an 8 km challenging uphill trek to Shilt Thatch. The trail takes you through blue pine, Himalayan fir, kharsu oak and spruce forests. Watch out for the rich birdlife of monal pheasants, the endangered western tragopan as your trail along. After lunch at Shilt, we trek back down to our campsite at Rolla. Dinner and Overnight Stay at Campsite.
After Breakfast, we leave our campsites on a 10 km trek back to our Guesthouse. The day would be spent unwinding and rewinding the memories of this holiday. Dinner and Overnight Stay at Guesthouse.
Drive to Jalori Pass
We leave our homely Guesthouse today and set on a drive to Jalori Pass at an altitude of 3120 m and a magnet for thrill seekers and bikers. We’ll even indulge in a brisk nature walk to Raghavpur Fort with views of the Himalayas and their abundant beauty. We leave Jalori Pass after lunch for Aut where your holiday ends.

– Over 200 species of birds – Monal Pheasant, Western Tragopan, Himalayan Griffon, Golden Eagle, Lammergeyer and more.

The itinerary is planned in such a way that you gain altitude gradually , you get a good and proper time to acclimatise properly while travelling through the Central Himalayas . Every day there is enough free time to make walk / or to relax your own so you could experience the people and culture from much close on the tour.
