Shimla to Mandi Manali Tirthan Valley – The route from Shimla to Mandi, Manali, and Tirthan Valley takes you through picturesque landscapes in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Here’s a suggested route:
Shimla to Mandi:
Start in Shimla and head south on NH205.
Pass through Solan, Kandaghat, and Darlaghat.
Continue on NH205 until you reach Mandi.
Mandi to Manali:
From Mandi, take NH3 towards Aut.
At Aut, you can either continue on NH3 or take the picturesque route by crossing the Aut Tunnel and following the road along the Beas River.
Continue towards Kullu and then on to Manali.
Manali to Tirthan Valley:
From Manali, head northeast on NH3.
Cross places like Kullu and Banjar on your way to Tirthan Valley.
Depending on your specific destination in Tirthan Valley, you might need to take local roads once you reach the vicinity.

Shimla to Mandi Manali Tirthan Valley Himachal Travel Guide (09 Nights / 10 Days)
Arrival Shimla airport / Railway station in the morning. Upon arrival you will be met and received and will be transferred to the hotel After some rest and freshen up you will go to explore The Mall (it is a famous market of Shimla town), Lower Bazaar, Lakkar (Wood) Bazzar on foot as vehicles are not allowed here. There are many interesting colonial time buildings located on a walkable distance from the Mall. Some very famous buildings are Gaiety Theatre, Christ Church, St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Railway Board Building, General Post Office, Gorton Castle (now Accountant General’s office). Overnight stay in Shimla.
Breakfast at the hotel. Later go for an excursion to Kufri (it’s famous for beautiful landscape). Return back to Shimla after the visit. Later go for a sightseeing tour of Shimla city visiting Viceregal Lodge (Monday closed from inside – also known as Indian Institute of Advance Studies), State Museum (Monday closed) and Jakhoo temple. Overnight stay in Shimla.
Breakfast at the hotel. Later you will be driven to Rewalsar. Rewalsar is a holy town for 03 religions i.e. Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism. Upon arrival visit the holy Lake of Rewalsar. The Tibetan and Himachali Buddhists call Rewalsar Tso Pema (Lotus Lake) in honour of the Indian Yogi Padmasambhava who lived and meditated here. Later you will visit the most noticeable monastery in Rewalsar i.e. Zigar Orgyen Choekorling Monastery because of its 138 feet high golden statue of Guru Rinpoche and Guru Padmasambhava cave, situated 07 kms above Rewalsar town. After the visit, you will drive to Mandi. Mandi used to be famously known as Kashi (Benaras) of Himalayas. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Evening you can explore Mandi town which is famous for its century old stone temples like TrilokNath Temple, PanchVaktra Temple. Time permitting you can even attend an evening aarti at famous Bhootnath temple. Overnight stay in Mandi.
Breakfast at the hotel. Later you will be driven to Manali. Enroute you will visit famous Prashar Lake. Prashar is situated at an altitude of approx. 2700 meters above sea level and is a famous for amazing views of snow peak mountains and centuries old beautiful Wooden temple which belongs to Parashar Rishi and holy lake. After the visit continue your drive to Manali. If interested, you can visit a beautiful Bishweshwar temple at Bajaura, just before reaching Bhunter town. Upon arrival in Manali, check in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Manali.
Manali Local Sightseeing Tour
Breakfast at the hotel. Later go for the sightseeing of Manali visiting Hadimba temple, Manu temple in Old Manali, Vashist temple and it’s kund (famous for hot water springs). Afternoon explore the local markets of Manali and visit Tibetan monasteries which are located at a walking distance from the main market of Manali i.e. The Mall. Overnight stay in Manali.
Breakfast at the hotel. Later go for a full day excursion to Rohtang Pass and Solang Valley. In Solang Valley you have an option to take a Gondola ride (on direct payment basis) to witness mesmerizing snow covered high mountain ranges. Return back to Manali after the day’s tour. Overnight stay in Manali.
Note: Today, you can also go to Rohtang Pass which is very famous amongst tourists. Rohtang Pass remains closed for the tourists on every Tuesdays due to maintenance work. To visit Rohtang Pass on other days, vehicle needs a special permit issued by local government agencies. Due to limited vehicles allowed per day for this visit, it is not sure to get the permit on confirmed basis. If our vehicle gets a permit, you will go in the same vehicle and will just have to pay permit charges for this excursion tour. Otherwise, you will have to try it directly with local transport union if they can arrange and provide you a vehicle which has a permit for this excursion tour and you can pay them directly whatever their charges would be. There will not be any reduction in the tour cost if our vehicle will not be able to get a permit for this excursion tour.
Breakfast at the hotel. Later you will be driven to Kullu visiting Naggar enroute. In Naggar visit Naggar Castle, Roerich’s Art Gallery and Tripura Sundari temple. You can also visit Jana Waterfalls and visiting some authentic villages of Kullu region like the villages of Jana or Nashala which are close to Naggar. If interested you also have an option to enjoy adventure activities like river rafting on river Beas or paragliding at Kullu valley. Later upon arrival in Kullu check in at the hotel. Evening visit famous Raghunath temple. Overnight stay in Kullu.
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit beautiful and famous Adi-Brahma Temple, located in Khokhan village, just 4 km from Bhuntar towards north. It is a massive wooden structure. This temple has idols of Adi-Brahma Ji in the center and temple of ‘Garh-Jogni’ and ‘Manikaran-Jogni’ on left and right side of the temple. Later you will be driven to Tirthan Valley. Located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, Tirthan Valley derives its name from the Tirthan river, which winds its way through it. The pristine river originates from the icy cold glacial springs of Hanskund, a snow-capped peak in the verdant Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP). Tirthan is an offbeat destination that has something for everyone. This quiet valley is ideal for trekking, fishing, wildlife watching, and discovering under-explored hill villages. There’s also the option of doing absolutely nothing as you relax among the pine trees in the valley. Upon arrival you will check in at your hotel. Afternoon you can visit the nearby waterfall which is around 1 hour trek from Mata Buddhi Nagin temple. Overnight stay in Tirthan Valley.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you can either trek upto The Great Himalayan National Park or you can also go for an excursion to visit Jalori Pass. You can also trek to Serolsar Lake from Jalori Pass. On return you can visit famous temples like Shringa Rishi and Chehni Kothi temples as well. To reach Chehni Kothi temples, you will have to trek for approx. 01 hr from the road. Return back to your hotel after the visits. Overnight stay in Tirthan Valley.
Breakfast at the hotel. Later you will be driven to Chandigarh. Upon arrival at Chandigarh you will be transferred to Railway station / airport to connect your onward journey.
