If you are looking for tranquility out in the wilderness, a visit to the Tirthan Valley can be your perfect weekend getaway! Set foot in the magical Tirthan Valley to untether your mind from all urban chaos and exhaustion you are shackled with. Surrounded by flowing rivers, lush green valleys, and lakes, this enchanting destination is in the buffer zone of the Great Himalayan National Park. The Valley is perched at 1600 meters besides the Tirthan River from which it derives its name. Explore this offbeat location by taking long treks through the rugged woods next to the meandering river and some scenic wonders may greet you. Follow the lazy roads through the forests and unwind into tiny hamlets of Nagini, Ghushaini, Banjar and Shoja which are equally beautiful. Enjoy activities like bonfires and camping only to elicit your already developed admiration for this place. Visitors can also enjoy trout fishing/rappelling/rock climbing and stay with local people at their home-stays. Spend some time here, and you might just get lucky with a brown or rainbow trout.
