The Maharana Pratap Sagar Reservoir (popularly known as Pong Dam) in Kangra with its 12,560 square km area, offers a variety of options for anglers and bird watchers. A large variety of fish such as Mahseer, Katla, Miror Carps, Rohoo, Singhara etc. are found in the Pong Dam Lake and its tributaries. A total of 27 fish species belonging to 5 families have been recorded. Golden Mahseer (Hunch Back) with whiskers is available in the dam whilst the silver and black Mahseer is also found largely in the tributaries. Over 220 bird species belonging to 54 families and a total of 27 fish species of five families have been identified at Pong. The sanctuary is encircled by a 5 km buffer zone.

Pick Up by Incredible Himachal Holodays Cab from New Delhi & proceed for Maharana Pratap Sagar Dam Reservoir. Reach the reservoir in the evening and check in to hotel. Spend your evening watching the birds from the roof top. Guests can also opt various aquatic activities such as Angling, Water skiing, wake boarding etc. Dinner and night stay at the hotel or lodge near the reservoir.
After breakfast spend your day angling the mahseer or watching the birds. The Pong Dam reservoir is an important wintering area for a large number of black headed Gulls, Brahminy ducks, Bar headed geese, Plovers, Grebes, Cormorants, Daters, Herons, Moorhens, Egrets and Storks etc. The first sighting of red necked Grebe in India was reported from the Pong dam Wetland. In the evening enjoy your tea followed by dinner in the night.

After breakfast start your return journey for New Delhi. In the evening after reaching New Delhi we will drop you at the desired place.
