Fishing in the crystal clear glacial waters of the Tirthan River is heaven for any fly-angler. And even if you haven’t before mastered your patience and the art of fishing – this experience is a great beginner. The river is abundant with trout fishes and even home to the coveted Rainbow Trout. Besides the fishing, the campsite at Jibhi is like the world divided in two. You step out of the campsite and the green surroundings, the pine trees, the Jibhi River greet you. You step into your tents and immediately feel like it all disappears to provide you with a bed, and other luxuries like wi-fi and attached bathroom. It’s like a two second ride to the outside world and back. This experience takes you to Jibhi, its beautiful meadows and quaint campsite nearby the Jibhi River. But it’s in the Tirthan Valley and its river’s crystal clear waters – where are Trout Fishing experience begins. The river is known for the abundance of trouts from the much sought after Rainbow Trout to the Brown Trout.
About Jibhi-Tirthan Valley
60 km away from the Kullu, lies Banjar and our quaint Jibhi Camp with its pine trees and beautiful meadows. Jibhi is but a non-commercial abode in the loud and adventurous Himachal Pradesh. Jibhi, with its serene ambience, its wild flowers, lush green forests, alpine meadows and streams is a peaceful expanse. Around 20 km away, lies the Tirthan River, a part of the Tirthan Valley. Here you can witness the crystal clear and icy cold waters where trout fishes flourish. To all the fly-anglers out there – this is certainly the Shangri-La of fly-fishing.
Tour Itinerary
1:00 pm: Arrive at Jibhi – its beautiful meadows, blooming wild flowers and alluring terraced fields. Freshen up and settle into your deluxe tents. 2:00 pm: Set off on a brisk walk to the Shesh Nag Temple and get a glimpse of the local deity. Later, visit the nearby waterfalls and lighten up your senses. 6:00 pm: Return to your campsite and relax by the Jibhi River over a refreshing drink or a cup of tea. Dinner and Overnight Stay at Campsite.
Begin your Trout Fishing Experience
8:30 am: After Breakfast, the Camp Manager will brief you about the day’s activity, the areas covered and trout fishing! 9:00 am: Your day’s plan includes a full day of fly-fishing at the Tirthan River and Jibhi stream. You’d be accompanied by guides to direct you and teach you a thing or two about fly-fishing. Tirthan River is an angler’s paradise – It is one of the few rivers in Himachal Pradesh where the Government to preserve the aquatic biodiversity hasn’t allowed to build any dams. It remains one of the few rivers where the Rainbow Trout is found. So go ahead – Hook, Line and Sinker! Packed lunch will be provided. Settle down over the bank and its rounded pebbles, enjoying the solitude and the magic of nature all around you. If you wish to fish on the opposite bank, then there’s an answer to that too! You could cross the river via a cable car or a one man jhoola. 6:00 pm: Return to Campsite and relax in your tents. 8: 00 pm: Sit around by the bonfire, sing and dance if your heart wishes to – there’s no stopping here! Later have your dinner under the shine of the stars and settle to your tents. Dinner and Overnight Stay at Campsite.

9:00 am: After Breakfast, bid goodbye to the wonderful experiences. Take with you all those sweet memories and hit the road with promises of a new day.
